As a small business owner, I know running a business can be lonely, and I have my parents and sister to share it with. I am always in awe of the florists who set up independently, so I am willing to share any and all help I can give.
When onboarding our new customers, I always compare how we run Flowers by Nattrass with whichever florist I work with. Sometimes, I pick up some hints and tips along the way and, other times, I share our knowledge of the industry with our customers. Our philosophy is there is room for as many local independent florists as possible. Working together as an industry makes us all stronger and helps us fight the corporate giants.
Boxing and sending flowers is something we started to do about ten years ago. Our website takes deliveries nationally, and although the vast majority of our orders are local, we have the odd one that comes through to be delivered further afield. For weekday delivery, we will box and send these flowers with a courier and knowing how we do this practically is one of the most asked questions. In fact two separate florists asked me for this information this week alone. This gave Katie the excellent idea for me to create a handy ‘how-to guide’ as one of our free resources, and here is it.
